At St Thomas a Becket C of E Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that journeys to and from school are as safe, healthy and sustainable as possible. As a growing rural school, we recognise the importance of promoting road safety, encouraging active travel where practical, and working closely with families and the local community to minimise the impact of school traffic.

Our School Travel Plan sets out how we will encourage walking, cycling and scooting, improve road safety awareness, and promote considerate parking and travel behaviours. The plan also identifies actions to help manage increasing traffic as the school continues to grow and attract families from a wider area.

The Travel Plan has been developed with input from pupils, parents, staff and governors and will be reviewed annually to ensure it continues to meet the needs of our school community.

Key priorities include:

• Improving pupils' road safety knowledge and skills.
• Enhancing cycle and scooter facilities.
• Encouraging considerate parking and positive relationships with local residents.
• Supporting the health, wellbeing and independence of our pupils.
• Reducing the environmental impact of journeys to school where possible.
